A new type of marine engineering protection technology, double-layer aluminum alloy composite sacrificial anode technology, was successfully developed by the Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was granted the national invention patent.




According to reports, this technology involves the improvement of Composite Sacrificial anode, which is suitable for cathodic protection of large offshore steel structures such as seaports, wharves and offshore platforms. The invention makes full use of the advantages of the two kinds of aluminum anodes. At the initial stage of protection, the outer aluminum anode is used to provide large protection current, so that the steel structure can be rapidly polarized, and the surface deposition layer can be rapidly formed, so that the current density required for maintaining stable polarization is greatly reduced; after the outer layer is consumed, the inner layer aluminum anode can protect the steel structure under a small protection current and give full play to the inner layer anode electricity Because of its high current efficiency and long service life, it has the advantages of good protection effect, long service life and saving anode materials.




Composite sacrificial anode is made of two or more different sacrificial anode materials. Composite sacrificial anode is a new technology developed in recent years. Compared with traditional sacrificial anode materials, it has obvious advantages in solving the cathodic protection of large steel structures in marine environment.




At present, the outer layer of Composite Sacrificial anode used in marine environment is magnesium alloy, which has a large driving potential, which can provide a large protection current at the initial stage of polarization, so that the steel structure can be rapidly polarized to reach the protection state. After the outer magnesium anode is dissolved and consumed, the inner aluminum alloy anode with low driving potential but high current efficiency starts to work, so as to adjust the protection current density to a lower level, so as to maintain the long-term and stable polarization of the steel structure and realize the purpose of corrosion protection.
