Magnesium is a promising anode material for chemical power supply. Therefore, the anode will have a loss after a period of time. The stronger the conductivity of water (hard water), the stronger the current, so the greater the loss of anode. The smaller the conductivity of water ("soft" water), the less strong the current, so the loss of anode is smaller, so it can not play a sufficient role in protecting the hot water storage tank, and the more likely it is to corrode it. The harder the water quality is, the greater the "natural protection" effect of water heater tank and devices will be.
