Construction and installation of reducing anode protection cost

Most of the cost of installing anode protection system was previously invested in power supply and installation of large capacity cables to transfer low voltage high current DC from controlled power supply to storage tank. The current carrying capacity of rectifiers installed in the anode protection system by progressive extinction method is only about 50% of the current required by the storage tank when the integral extinction method is used. The gradual extinction method is adopted for extinction, and the liquid level of the storage tank is required to be lower than 50% of the full liquid level. The matting treatment makes the pulp surface dull and protected. After that, the water level of the reservoir rose slowly. As long as the injection rate of pulp is controlled slowly enough, the newly submerged part of the tank wall area will be gradually passivated. If the pulp is added too fast, the activation zone will be formed, and the liquid level must be lowered again so as to transform and passivate the whole equipment.


In the past, there was a problem with the system, because the workshop operator needed to use the storage capacity of the tank flexibly as a buffer for production control if there was a process mix up somewhere in the pulping plant. In this case, the passive zone and active zone coexist in the reservoir.


Since 1994, the design of anode protection system has changed the shortcomings of previous systems without increasing installation cost. Some circuit diagrams of anode protection system are directly installed on the top of the tank, so the demand for heavy load cable is much shorter. The protection system is controlled by 208v three-phase AC controller, which reduces the wiring range and greatly reduces the installation cost. At present, the commercial capacity of anode protection system is 100% of the current required to blunt the whole vessel, so as to minimize the need to reduce the tank level during the process.
